Day 25 – Normandale to Dunnville, ON Canada– 9/13/19

Today’s Miles: 49
Total: 1,235

Another great day of riding. For any of you reading this, I apologize for how boring it is.  The days just aren’t that much different from the rest.

Woke today in that beautiful home.  Had to set an alarm because I was in the basement and it was so dark and quiet, I was afraid I wouldn’t get up at the appropriate time.  We usually get up at 6:45 or so and get breakfast and such and get on the road about 8:30. Henry cooked us a nice breakfast of eggs, sausage & toast and we were on our way.

We rode about 15 miles with Jim to Port Dover.  There was a motorcycle rally going on today in that city.  They have a rally every Friday the 13th and I guess this is the first one in the summer for a while.  They were expecting about 100,000 people, but we met up with some motorcyclists tonight that said they felt that only about half showed up.  It was fun to see.  Jim turned around and headed home after being there.  It was sure nice to ride with him a few days. He is the son of Dutch immigrant parents and it has been so interesting to learn of these immigrants which are numerous in this area and to learn of his life of farming and business and family.

Riding along the shores of Lake Erie.  We had winds today that we were a little worried about, but they mostly came at our side all day which helped.  Tomorrow they are supposed to switch again to our backs.  Here’s to hoping. 😊

In Dunnsville tonight in a motel.  It’s supposed to rain again tonight, so we decided to try and stay out of the weather.  Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny.

Just thought this bike looked good in the row.

The line up of bikes beginning.  We were there rather early and the stream of bikes we passed all day was significant.

Two on the left is Henry and Marlene out front of their home we stayed in last night.

Jim, Tim & I.
